Hanosh Udwadia has been a client of GetSetGo Fitness was under the coaching of Pratik Thakkar for 6 months and now has been managing things by himself. His journey has been one amazing one which leaves many, including his coach by surprise at times along with admiration for how far has he come.
Today, we interview Mr. Hanosh to know more about what are the things he has done and how did he achieve this:
Q. Tell us more about yourself. What do you do, where are you from and something that defines you as a person?
A. I am living in Mumbai since birth, I work with the Waterstones Hotel as an Associate Director for Sales. As a person, if I believe in something, I tend to go till the end and finish the work given.
Q. The picture evidently shows that your transformation has been quite impressive. How long did it take?
A. Approx. 6 months to be precise, 3 months of extensive fat loss & 3 months of muscle gain. Post that, I have been eating healthy as a habit and maintaining my progress. It has been two months now and I am not only being able to maintain my progress but also improvise making tiny adjustments that I have learnt with the coaching.
Q. Was the weight loss uniform throughout?
A. Yes, and it did have it phases when we maintained weight, gained a few hundred grams but in the long-term, it was on a decline. In the muscle gain process, we actively tried to gain weight.
Q. What would you want to say about the importance of having a proper nutrition plan in place?
A. Diet is 80 % & 20 % of exercise, proper nutrition is important for your body to react in a way it would help to improve your immunity & lifestyle when you see the change you automatically start choosing the right kind of food.
Q. Did you end up buying any special fat loss supplements to help you with this transformation?
A. No never, it was just my coach Pratik's special diet which helped me out.
Q. What was the thing that drove you to take this up? What was your inspiration?
A. Frankly I had heard about ketogenic dieting and wanted some good nutritionist to help me out with it, I did have a friend to help me out, but he explained it on a different level without explaining the quantity as in how much grams should I eat etc. Then I met Pravin in the gym (coach with GetSetGo), I still remember I was in the locker room & I asked him if he knows anyone who can help me out.
As I was amazed to see his transformation, after that he guided me to join GetSetGo. Well, to be honest, I had no inspiration, just the thought and the willingness to become leaner & getting abs was my major motivation.
With Pratik, I did not end up doing ketogenic diet and I was very well enjoying fruits, rice, and my cappuccino while losing weight and getting those abs.
Q. How do you stay motivated to do what you do to better this transformation? What advice would you give out to others planning to get started?
A. Well, I control my cravings for junk food. Also seeing my transformation on a daily basis keeps me motivated.
Well, the advice I would give to beginners would be that they need to be strong in their head & completely surrender themselves to the nutritionist & listen to them blindly, whatever diet they give just follow it with all your heart, you will have lots of friends telling you "What are you doing? are u seriously eating rice for dinner? It will make you fat."
Just turn a deaf ear and follow your coach's advice.
Q. Has your life changed in any way after this transformation? Could you tell us an incident that made you feel great about this change?
A. Well, it has for sure, some say I looked better before, some say I look good now as I look a bit younger than before but I am loving it. I feel the change as all my old new clothes (XL & XXL ) have gone for a toss as I am wearing L size, in the gym whenever I do my exercises people see the change and come up to me ask me the secret, some fools in the gym feel that I am on steroids & I burst out laughing.
But when I do my Biceps curls & and my veins pop out, heads turn in the gym & people around me keep staring which makes feel really great. ROFL!
Q. Why did you choose GetSetGo Fitness?

Q. What is the one piece of advice you'd like to give out to those working out at the gym?
A. Well, there is this funny myth which most of the people follow in the gym, which I feel is totally wrong!
Lifting heavy weights with no consideration for the form and technique, for eg the max weight I lift for incline dumbell press would be 55 lbs each. I see guys lifting more than 90 lbs & that too with support & howling noises.
If u want to lift heavy, you need to start picking up lighter weights with good form and also focus on your nutrition. I also see people following you tubes videos of any random athlete & start following the same routine & regime & end getting injured.
Q. What would you want to tell to the people who chase quick results in terms of weight loss?
A. The answer here would be quite simple, do not do it if the drop in the scale is your only motive. You might get results but also lose them very quick. Fad diets only work for the short-term. Get into it and make it a lifestyle by making smart sustainable choices. This way you will get results and will be able to maintain it as well, like I did.
