Ramadan Kareem - Manage your fitness goals while fasting

A good number of people perform some form of Intermittent Fasting (IF) due to a variety of reasons. Many people across the globe practice it due to religious reasons. IF is nothing but fasting done intermittently, where you consume no food/water during the fasting period.

The question that I often get while helping such clients is, “How do I manage my nutrition/training while following the fast?”

Minced chicken stuffed mushrooms

Marinate Minced Chicken with 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1/2 lemon, salt as per taste. Add butter to pan and cook chicken with 2 tbsp cream till completely done.

Scoop mushroom and stuff chicken minced and topped with mozzarella cheese, sprinkle oregano and bake at 150 for 10 minutes.

Hung Curd Dessert

Ingredients for Hung Curd Dessert :

Dessert on diet, sweet cravings, flexible dieting, curd

Normal curd ( half liter milk)

Fresh Strawberries few 

Dry Fruits - Almonds, berries and you can add few others of your choice. 

Remove water from curd, using muslin cloth. (Just like how we strain it from paneer).  Once its left with hung curd, add fresh strawberries which are crushed and add stevia (sweetner as per taste), then add dry fruits layer on it. You can also use dark chocolate or chocolate sauce to top on it. Tastes good when served chilled.

Picture 1: The stance.

Since this is a conventional deadlift, the stance is a hip width stance. The center of the foot is exactly under the bar. Shin to bar is not the right concept. You'll know why as you read further.

Picture 2: Grip.

The grip that you see here is called a dead grip. One arm is supinated (under the bar) and the other is pronated (over the bar). This gives a very strong hold. People who are comfortable with a normal grip are good to go as long as they feel strong.

PIRYANI - Simple Version Of Biryani

Diet is all about making food look and taste delicious even when there are limitations with the ingredients .

One needs mental as well as physiological satiety to be happy following a diet regime . A tiny imaginary chef hat and dishes look and taste out of the world .

I call this dish PIRYANI as its a poor cousin of the royal Biryani .

Fish moilee

Steamed fish cooked in coconut milk :) (Can be cooked with raw fish too)

Heat oil/ghee & add dry red chilly & mustard seeds. As the seeds splutter, add curry leaves. Saute & add sliced onion. As the onion turns pinkish, add chopped ginger. Fry together & add turmeric powder, coriander powder & red chilly powder. Fry again & add coconut milk. If the gravy is too thick, add some water. As the gravy starts to boil, slide in the fish pieces. Cook together for a while & take out once done. Garnish with curry leaves :)
