Well weekend is finally here and yes we all want to relax and get out of the week long work related stress!

For most of us, going for a movie with our friends/spouse/family does the job. Isn’t it? “But hey, I am on a fitness regimen. I

am dieting for a particular fitness goal. Am I just going to sit in the movie theatre for 2 hours straight without snacking anything?” This is a legit question we might ask ourselves, right?

The answer is NO! Fitness has to be sustainable lifestyle as we keep saying and yes there are hacks to even munch while watching a movie. All you got to do is open your eyes wide open at the food counter and look for low calorie snacking options. Here are a few things you could order while enjoying your favorite movie stars on the big screen.

1. Chicken/veg sandwich: Look for a plain chicken or veg sandwich without much of extra filling inside. Too many fillings like cheese, mayonnaise, etc will definitely add a lot of calories. Instead, go for a plain sandwich which would have nothing but a couple of slices of bread, chicken/mashed potato/paneer, salad leaves and just a fair bit of cheese/mayonnaise. Safe to say it would not exceed more than 200 calories.

2. Non veg/veg salad: This is something I personally prefer as it is super low in calories. The gentleman who prepares the salad for you thinks about nothing taste! Ask him to not put a lot of sauces. A small sachet or two of ketch up will not harm. You could ask him to load the salad with a lot of greens so that you do not feel hungry. Greens in any amount will not harm and it helps keep the volume of the meal high.

3. Diet coke/fresh lime soda/Americano etc: These are what I like to call the ‘saviour beverages’. Absolutely no calories in it. You could go super crazy on them and consume as much as you want. Just make sure you get the sugar free sachets instead of the regular sugar sachets to sweeten them if you prefer to have a sweet beverage. Do not put the sugar free in diet coke though. That’d make you look like an idiot.

4. Popcorn: You thought I forgot about popcorn? I better not  No popcorn. no movie! Order a small bucket of buttered popcorn if you just can't watch the movie without it. Avoid flavored ones like cheese or caramel popcorn. You definitely don't want to go overboard with your calories. A small bucket of popcorn will be around 370-400 calories. If you're someone well versed with counting calories, make sure you eat accordingly the rest of the day and leave aside around calories to enjoy your popcorn. If you are not used to counting calories, ask your coach to help you adjust it for you.

5. Momos and cooked corn: Well well, by now it looks like you have an entire health menu. Right? If given a choice among all of these, I would personally prefer either of these- momos or steamed corn. Simply because they treat my taste buds so well and keeps my tummy light and happy! 6 pieces of a generic veg/non veg momo will be around 240 to max 270 calories and a cup of cooked corn is around 210 calories. Undeniably another healthy addition to the list of food you could enjoy while watching a movie.

Watching a movie while dieting just got better

So what are you waiting for? Book your tickets and go for a movie. You have the hacks and your diet is in place. Call up your special one and enjoy. It’s going to be a great weekend
